Blooming Lotus

The lotus flower has a special place in the Buddhist religion, because it stands as an epitome of enlightenment, purity, rebirth and wisdom. Wearing a blooming lotus will remind you that every day is an opportunity for your spiritual qualities of compassion, contentment and love to blossom. In Buddhist symbolism the lotus is symbolic of mind, purity, and speech as while rooted in the mud, its flowers blossom on long stalks as if floating above the muddy waters of attachment and desire. The lotus is also a symbol of detachment as drops of water easily slide off its petals. This pattern of growth signifies the progress of the soul from the primeval mud of materialism, through the waters of experience, and into the bright sunshine of enlightenment. A delicate flower of lotus has a strength of its stem, that regularly rises eight to twelve inches above the surface. Rising above the mud to bloom requires great faith in oneself, in the practice, and in the Buddha's teaching. So, along with purity and enlightenment, a lotus also represents faith.

Namaste

Namaste is used both for valediction and salutation. It is usually spoken with a slight bow and hands pressed together. This gesture is called Añjali Mudrā or Pranamasana. In Hinduism it means "I bow to the divine in you". The bowing down of the head is a gracious form of extending friendship and respect. The real meeting between people is the meeting of their minds according to Buddhist philosophy. When you greet one another with namaste, it means, "may our minds meet."

Buddha

Buddha is said to have reached a stage of spiritual enlightenment by deep meditation. Wearing images of the Buddha engraved on your band can remind you to be more Buddha-like in daily activities. It may encourage patience, being kind and mindful of cultivating thoughts of peace. Buddha was born as a prince, until one day, he decided to renounce all the comforts of his life to find the real truth about human existence. He reached the state of enlightenment by deep meditation and taught his followers the true path of attaining salvation. Centuries later his followers around the world show reverence to his teachings in various forms, one of which is wearing Buddha jewelry.
